WE & THE BEES / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Practical answers about keeping bees, hosting, care and your first visit. The details of your service are confirmed in an individual proposal.
CHOOSING YOUR ARRANGEMENT
Every proposed location needs an individual assessment. Space, access, surrounding activity and applicable requirements are considered before an installation is agreed.
No. Hosted hives, lessons and private experiences offer ways to become involved without keeping bees at home.
A hosted arrangement concerns where a hive lives and how it is cared for. Sponsorship supports a managed hive through an agreed contribution. Neither label should be taken as proof of ownership; ownership and benefits are stated in your proposal.
The proposal defines ownership of colonies and equipment, including any existing equipment, replacement responsibilities and what happens when the arrangement ends.
There is no fixed yield. Harvests vary with colony and seasonal conditions. Any honey allocation, extraction and packaging must be set out in the agreed proposal.
UNDERSTANDING THE SERVICE
Included visits, tasks, communication and client responsibilities are defined for the arrangement. Additional work and materials should be distinguished from the agreed scope.
Costs depend on the location, number of hives, equipment, access and work involved. We prepare an individual quote that distinguishes initial, ongoing and separately charged work.
Tell us your area, colony count, recent hive history and the support you need. We assess access and the starting condition before agreeing seasonal or ongoing work.
This is an enquiry-based service. Immediate attendance and fixed response times are not promised. Availability and scheduling are confirmed for the specific request.
The public Hive Journal contains introductory guides. Personal colony updates or care reports are agreed separately in your service proposal; a private online portal is not currently included.
LEARNING & VISITING
Tell us your starting point and learning goals. We discuss a suitable introduction in English and confirm the scope before booking.
Visits must be arranged in advance. Venue, timing, equipment, access and participation requirements are confirmed for the actual visit.
Hive opening and hands-on participation depend on weather, colony conditions and the agreed session. They cannot be assumed or guaranteed.
Protective equipment, clothing guidance and participation requirements are confirmed before booking. Ask about any access or participation needs during the initial enquiry.
Activities may need to change or be rescheduled. The booking proposal should explain changes, rescheduling and cancellation before the booking is agreed.
GETTING STARTED
We focus on Attica and nearby areas. Service availability, travel arrangements and the meeting location are confirmed individually.
Your area or postcode, the service that interests you and your starting point are enough for an initial enquiry. You do not need to send your full home address.
